Learn more about Farmina and its science based approach to animal nutrition.

For many years, we believed that feeding an animal was primarily about meeting its energy requirements. Recent scientific discoveries, however, have shown that ingredient quality, degree of processing, and interactions with the microbiome can have a profound impact on long-term health.

Led by Dr. Marquis, this webinar will explore the connections between nutrition, the microbiome, inflammation, immunity, metabolism, and longevity. You will also learn how various dietary and environmental factors can influence the health and well-being of companion animals.

We will also debunk several common myths in pet nutrition, helping you distinguish scientific evidence from marketing claims and adopt a more informed approach to nutritional recommendations.

Learning objectives:

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Describe the relationships between nutrition, the microbiome, and overall pet health.
  • Evaluate dietary and environmental factors that may influence microbiome balance and long-term health outcomes.
  • Critically assess information, trends, and nutritional claims in pet food to support recommendations based on current scientific evidence.

Following the presentation, we invite you to stay for an additional 15-minute session to discover Farmina's VetLife product line. Backed by scientific research conducted in collaboration with leading universities and formulated with high-quality ingredients, VetLife delivers trusted nutritional solutions at the forefront of animal health, combining the best of nature and science.

Presenter:

Dr. Marquis graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Université de Montréal in 2011.

For more than thirteen years, she practiced general and emergency veterinary medicine. This experience led her to ask a question that profoundly transformed her approach: why are so many animals developing chronic diseases today despite advances in veterinary medicine?

This reflection led her to explore integrative and functional medicine. In 2024, she founded Mon Vet Nature, a veterinary practice dedicated to the prevention of chronic disease by examining the interactions between nutrition, the microbiome, the environment, and lifestyle.

Over the years, she has pursued extensive training in natural nutrition, microbiome medicine, and other complementary approaches to better understand the root causes of disease.

Her mission is to make scientific knowledge accessible and practical, empowering pet owners to become active partners in their animals' health and well-being.
