Description

Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology Infrastructure, the candidate ensures the proper architecture and functioning of the applications on the network and performs other related duties.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain and set up Windows servers according to the department specifications and procedures;
  • Write and update installation, administration and operating instructions for servers;
  • Administer employee and sales force user accounts: passwords, server and software access rights;
  • Check server status daily to ensure maximum security and stability;
  • Perform continuous monitoring of the informatics infrastructure using available tools;
  • Provide troubleshooting and technical support to application users;
  • Configure the organization’s telephone infrastructure: telephone system, voice mail, cabling, call centres, etc.;
  • Purchase the software and equipment needed for the systems to function well;
  • Monitor technology trends that could help improve the department’s current activities;
  • Ensure that each installed software package is legally licensed to the organization;
  • Be responsible for backing up all computer systems, according to the current policy;
  • Manage the IT inventory;
  • Perform any other duties as required by his or her manager to serve the interests of CDMV.

Technical competencies:

  • Communicate effectively in French and in English, verbally and in writing;
  • Hold a CEGEP diploma in informatics or equivalent;
  • Advanced knowledge of server and network administration;
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a system and/or network administrator;
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 7, Windows 10) and Windows Server 2008 r2, 2012 and 2016;
  • Knowledge of IT-related technology: TCP/IP, DNS, FTP, DHCP, SMTP, SNMP;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and VMware;
  • Ability to manage Office 365 platform;
  • Practical knowledge of network architecture concepts: VLAN, DMZ;
  • Firewall management rules;
  • Knowledge of Linux server operating systems an asset;
  • Knowledge of MS-SQL 2008, 2012 database servers an asset;
  • Experience in logistics, shipping and receiving environments an asset;
  • Experience in managing IP telephony;
  • On-call availability outside of normal working hours;
  • Ability to do level 1 technician duties and be a technical resource for a level 1 technician;
  • Bilingual.
