Your mission

The Director, Procurement Centre of Excellence (COE) is responsible for leading the Procurement Centre of Excellence, as well as supporting its transformation plan execution.  Reporting to the Vice President Procurement, the director is the primary contact for supplier lead initiatives and serves as subject matter expert (SME) for future digital procurement platform deployments.

What you’d mainly be responsible for:

  • Support the implementation of procurement transformation plan in order to re-position the function to be a strategic business partner and deliver value to both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Initiate Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program with defined scope, responsibilities and work plan to manage supplier performance and further develop partnership leveraging supplier enabled continuous improvement and innovation opportunities;
  • Act as a centre of process innovation including responsibility of procurement digitalization; refine existing processes and develop new processes for changing business environment and efficiency requirement;
  • Provide technical expertise in all systems that enable category management, spend analysis, purchase requisitions/approvals, source-to-contract, contract life cycle management, supplier billing, supplier payment and savings tracking;
  • Develop spend analysis process and conduct a thorough assessment of the company’s full spend on direct/indirect goods and services to improve spend visibility and identify cost savings/cost avoidance opportunities;
  • Develop contract management plan and lead the negotiation and development of key contracts through effective partnering with suppliers, legal and business stakeholders
  • Introduce change management initiatives driven by procurement policy/process/system changes or upgrades to maximize value and avoid disruption to business operations;
  • Lead ideation and implementation of sourcing strategies that deliver supply continuity, cost optimization and lead-time reduction;
  • Lead implementation of negotiation best practice, with focus on building structured negotiation approach and optimization of supplier negotiation opportunities;
  • Play project manager role to ensure key sourcing events and other procurement, lead cross-functional projects are delivered on time and on budget;
  • Provide coaching and direction to team members to ensure high level of engagement
  • Develop and present procurement key performance indicators (KPI);
  • Maintain a solid understanding of CDMVs strategy, vision, products, services and capabilities to successfully identify, plan and implement strategic opportunities.

We would like to meet you if you have :

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field. MBA is an asset;
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in procurement roles with demonstrated track record of leading or supporting procurement transformation;
  • At least 4 years in leadership positions;
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical distribution market or the consumer packaged group (CPG) market is strongly preferred;
  • In-depth knowledge of supplier relationship management, contract management, strategic sourcing and supply chain management;
  • Detailed knowledge of procurement best practices;
  • Practical experience of knowledge management, change management and project management (Project management professional [PMP] certificate preferred);
  • Experience working with procurement systems (Ariba, Coupa, Smart by GEP etc);
  • Experience in Business-to-business (B2B), Business-to-consumer (B2C) and e-Commerce;
  • Excellent analytical and financial acumen including cost analysis, forecasting and scenario analysis;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Bilingualism in oral and written form (French and English) is preferred;
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office suite.
